This template is great for when you are first learning to budget and track your money, but it's easier to do more detailed analysis if your transaction data is in one register, like in the original Money Management template. The main disadvantage of this approach is that your transaction data is split across multiple worksheets, making it more difficult to create yearly reports. See FAQs below for instructions on how to print and save your budget. Click on the ‘ Make a Copy ‘ button it will get saved to your Google Drive account. You will be asked to make a copy of the template. Once you click on the ‘ Google Sheets ‘ button in the email you received the template will open in your browser. Enter your personal and household expenses in the columns titled Planned and Actual. If you already use Microsoft Excel, you can create a budget easily using a template or making one from scratch. You can make a copy of the budget worksheet for each budget period. This budget template enables you to: work out where your money is going. According to this method, your monthly take-home income is divided into three categories: 50 for needs, 30 for wants and 20 for savings and debt repayment. You’ll see options for an annual budget and a monthly budget among the choices. A good personal monthly budget template should follow the 50/30/20 rule. Although it lacks some features of the original template, I designed it to be easier to use (requiring very little Excel experience). Navigate to the template gallery for Google Sheets, and scroll down to ‘Personal’.

Like my original Money Management template, you can customize budget categories and track multiple accounts, but this version includes everything in a single worksheet and uses fewer budget categories. This template works for a weekly, biweekly, or monthly budget.
